Becoming a SleepPoints member
How do I sign up to SleepPoints Rewards?
Signing up is easy! Simply create an account here with an email address and password. It’s fast and free to join and you can start earning points straight away. We’ll even give you 100 bonus points for joining - that’s worth $5 (which you can use on your first order)! If you currently have an account with us, you’ll already have a SleepPoints account. Please contact our Customer Service team if you have any queries.
I already have an account. Do I need to create a new one to earn rewards?
No, you’re already enrolled in our program.
Will I receive points for purchases I made prior to creating my rewards account?
If you have made guest orders on the same email address you will have earned points on those orders (and the relevant VIP tier for your spend), however you will need to contact us to link these to your account, once it is created. If you have made guest orders and would like to create a SleepPoints account, please email enquiries@thesleepstore.co.nz and we can append your rewards to your account.
Your SleepPoints Account
Where can I find all of my rewards account info?
You can find your SleepPoints rewards history under “My Account > My Rewards”. You can then see your rewards history by clicking on the “Rewards" button. You’ll also be able to see your points balance at checkout.
How do I check my SleepPoints balance?
You can access your balance by logging in and navigating to “My Account”. You can also view your balance at checkout. If you’re opted in to receive our emails, you can also see your points balance and current tier status in the header of our emails. When you move up a tier, we’ll email you to say congrats and thanks for being such a loyal customer!
Earning SleepPoints
How do I earn SleepPoints?
You can earn points in a number of ways. All purchases, except for products in our Outlet, earn points at the rate of $1 spent = 1 point. Points will not be earned on outlet items or shipping costs. Plus, there are a number of other earning options such as writing a verified review or following us on social media. SleepPoints can't be transferred, so you must be logged in to your account when earning points. You can earn points by:
- Following us on Facebook (20 Points).
- Following us on Instagram (20 Points).
- Following us on TikTok (20 Points)
- Birthday Bonus (200 Points). Please note you must register your birthday date on the My Rewards page, otherwise we won’t know it’s your birthday! Read more about how the Birthday Bonus works here
- Writing a Verified Review (20 points per review, plus a bonus 30 points (so 50 in total) if you add a photo to your review). To find out more about how this reward works and how to write a verified review, read more here.
How do I earn SleepPoints for writing product reviews?
We reward you for writing a verified review after you have purchased an item from us. We will send you an email requesting a review for a specific item or a review of your shopping experience and you can write the review within the email we send. You will also have the opportunity to write other verified reviews and earn additional points once you have completed the first review within an email request. Points are awarded for product reviews only and while you are very welcome to write reviews at any time, we can only award points for the verified reviews from an email request as this is directly linked to purchasing the item from The Sleep Store.
Do SleepPoints ever expire?
SleepPoints will expire after 1 year of inactivity.
How can I keep my SleepPoints account active?
To keep your SleepPoints account active, continue to purchase and engage with us. Any purchase or engagement (such as a review from a Review Request email) or following our socials (if you haven't done so already) will count as engagement and will keep your account active.
Why didn’t I earn points on my purchase?
Double-check you were signed into your rewards account and didn’t accidentally check out as a guest. You must be logged in when making purchases to earn points. If you have done this in error, please contact our customer service team at enquiries@thesleepstore.co.nz to help apply your points to your account.
You also won’t receive points if you buy items from the outlet category, return your purchase or your purchase is cancelled for any reason. Please note that any points you earn on a purchase that you later return will be deducted from your points balance. Additionally, if you exchange an item for a lesser value, your points will be adjusted to reflect the points value of the exchanged product.
If you have paid using a Gift Voucher you won’t receive points unless there is an amount owing after the balance of the Gift Voucher.
I should have earned points for a purchase/incentive but I didn’t see my account balance change. Did I get credit?
Yes! The systems communicating points could take anywhere from minutes to several hours to appear in your account. However, if you feel like you have earned points but they are not showing up in your account you can also troubleshoot it with these tricks:
- Try to refresh your browser.
- Try to log out and then back into your account.
- Check your ‘Rewards history’ in your Rewards account to see if the points were added without you realizing it. Your ‘Rewards history’ will show you the number of points earned, how and when they were earned, as well as any redemptions of points made on your account.
If you still feel like your points balance is not accurate you can contact our customer service team at enquiries@thesleepstore.co.nz who will look into it for you.
Do I earn SleepPoints when purchasing Gift Vouchers?
At this time we are unable to offer SleepPoints for Gift Voucher purchases.
Can I earn SleepPoints for refering a friend?
No, we don't offer points or incentives for referring friends, however we're always appreciative of customers who refer via word of mouth.

How do I redeem my points for products?
Exchanging your points for some of our exciting rewards gifts is easy. Simply visit the my rewards page to view our rewards store and click the 'Redeem' button on your chosen gift. This will add the product to your cart. You can view your cart or mini cart and proceed to checkout as normal. Please note, you must already have a non-reward item in your cart to be able to check out with a rewards gift.
Our rewards gifts are tiered, so when you're a Community VIP member you'll have access to a selection of rewards. As you move up through the tiers, you'll be able to access more areas of our Rewards Store. VIP platinum members can choose to redeem points for any product in our rewards store.
I added a redemption product to my cart, but no longer want it. How can I remove it from my cart?
If you’ve added a redemption product to your cart and decide you no longer want it before you check out, go back to the cart page and click the ‘x’ button to remove it. You can also click the "remove" text which is next to the automatically generated coupon code at checkout.
How do I redeem my points for store credit?
Points can be redeemed for store credit at checkout. You will see a slider which shows how many points you have and how much your points are worth. You can move the slider along and choose how many points you want to redeem at that time and what the value is (up to the value of your current cart). You can use some of your points or all of your points (up to the value of your current cart). Once you’ve decided how many you want to convert to store credit, click Apply and this will convert your points to Store Credit, which you will then see in the Payment area.
If you change your mind, you can deselect the "Store Credit" payment type and use your credit next time. Please note, your store credit will remain credit until it is used, it will not be changed back to points if you choose not to redeem it at that time. Additionally, once you've converted your points to store credit, we can't change them back to SleepPoints. Please note SleepPoints are not transferrable and neither is store credit.
How many products can I redeem at once?
To redeem your points for gifts you will need to have at least one paid product in your cart. You can then choose one redemption gift per order, as long as you have enough points. You can easily see how many points each redemption product costs on the SleepPoints rewards page. If you don’t have enough points you won’t be able to add the redemption product to your cart. If you change your mind, you can remove the product from your cart using the ‘x’ button in the mini cart or on the cart page or by clicking "remove" next to the automatically generated coupon code at your cart or in your mini cart..
Can I use a coupon code and redeem points for a product?
No. You can choose to use a coupon code or redeem a rewards product, but you can't use both at the same time. You can use store credit with a rewards product redemption or you can use store credit and another coupon code.
About Coupons
Tier Entry Coupons
When you move up a tier from Community to Silver, from Silver to Gold and from Gold to Platinum you will receive a coupon for a nominated amount to spend on our website. These coupons will have a code which you can apply for a discount at checkout on your next order. Your unique coupon code will be emailed to you when you move up a tier and it will also available in your rewards history. These coupons can only be applied on orders with a minimum spend of $50 (excluding shipping costs) and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Coupons must be used in one transaction and are non-transferable. Coupons are one-time use only and will not be refunded or re-instated once used, even if you return your order.

Is Store Credit automatically applied to my order?
Yes! If you’re logged in to your SleepPoints account, your points will automatically be converted to dollars and selected as a payment method when you’re at checkout. If you don’t want to use your points in that order, you can DESELECT the option and choose your preferred payment method. If you choose not to use your store credit it will remain on your account until you use it.
How do I redeem my points for store credit?
Points can be redeemed for store credit at checkout. You will see the amount of points you have and how much your points are worth along with a slider. You can move the slider along and choose how many points you want to redeem at that time (up to the value of your current cart). You can use some of your store credit or all your store credit (up to the value of your order). Store credit cannot be transferred to other customers. Once you've decided, click "Apply" and this will convert your SleepPoints to store credit. You'll see this as a payment type in the payment area at checkout. If you decide not to use your store credit, simply deselect it as a payment type. It will still be there for your next order. Please note, once you've converted SleepPoints to store credit, you can't convert them back to SleepPoints.
Why can't I see the points redemption slider to convert my points to store credit?
You will see the points redemption slider at check out when you are logged in. Check that you are logged in and are on the checkout page. If you are, try refreshing the page to reactivate the slider.
How do I pay with store credit?
1) Log into your SleepPoints Account, select the items you want to purchase and go through the checkout process
2) At the top of the checkout page, you’ll see a slider which will allow you to choose how many points you have and what the value is. Once you’ve decided how many points you want to convert to store credit, click Apply and you will see this as store credit in the Payment types area of the checkout page.
3) If required, choose a 2nd payment type from the selection to pay the balance of the amount due.
4) Remember, you can deselect Store Credit as a payment type if you change your mind, and want to save your credit for your next order.
Where has my store credit gone?
Once you’ve redeemed your SleepPoints for Store Credit, you may wonder where you can see your balance, especially once your SleepPoints balance is back at 0. Don’t worry, when you redeem your SleepPoints for store credit you can then see your store credit balance in two places. Please note, once your points are converted to Store Credit, they will stay as store credit, even if you choose to save it until your next order. You can see your store credit:
1. Highlighted under ‘My Account’ (not under the rewards page).
2-As store credit balance on the payment option screen at checkout - it will be automatically selected, but you can choose to deselect it if you want.
VIP Tiers
How is my VIP tier determined?
We have four different VIP tiers and these are based on your lifetime spend and activity with The Sleep Store. Please note if you return a product for a refund and your overall spend falls below your current tier threshold, your VIP tier will fall to reflect your overall spend.
The four tiers are:
- VIP Community (Lifetime spend of $1 - $199)
- VIP Silver (Lifetime spend of $200 - $499)
- VIP Gold (Lifetime spend of $500 - $1499)
- VIP Platinum (Lifetime spend of $1500+)
What happens to my VIP Tier when I return something?
If you return an item for a refund the points for that item will be deducted from your balance. If your total points spend then falls below the new VIP tier, your tier will drop back to reflect your total overall spend.
Will my VIP tier ever drop?
Your tier status is for life and never expires! So if you reached silver or gold and come back to shop with us later, for example when you have another baby or need to buy a baby shower gift, all your perks are still available to you. We understand that our customers have different needs at different ages and stages, and we would love for you to return to shopping with us when we can next help. If, however you return or exchange a product, your lifetime spend will be adjusted to reflect the value of the return or exchanged item and this may result in you moving down a tier.
How do I know which Rewards tier I am currently a member of?
When you are signed into your account you can see your tier status and number of points by visiting the SleepPoints rewards page when you’re logged in. Your points are displayed at the top of the page and your tier status is shown further down the page. If you’re signed up to our VIP newsletter you can also see your current tier status and points balance there.
How will I know when I have reached a new tier?
When your total points cross a tier threshold you will receive an email welcoming you into the new tier. You can also check your tier status at any time on the rewards homepage.
Returns & Exchanges
What happens to my SleepPoints when I return something?
If you return an item for a refund, the points earned on that item will be deducted from your balance. If that product spend had moved you up a VIP tier, you would have earned bonus points. These will also be reversed when the item is refunded and your new VIP tier will change accordingly.
If you used your rewards towards a purchase and later decided to return that item, your rewards will be credited back to your rewards account. For example, if you used $10 worth of SleepPoints (store credit) towards a $100 purchase that you decide to return, the $90 balance paid will be refunded on your credit card and the $10 store credit will be deposited back into your account (as store credit, not points).
Coupons are one-time use only and will not be refunded or re-instated once used, even if you return your order.
If you return an item and you have already spent your rewards points, your account will go into negative points.
Can I return my order if I redeemed rewards points for a discount?
Yes. If you are returning the entire order, we will refund you the total dollar amount spent after the discount was applied. The points you used to redeem the discount will also be added back into your rewards account.
What happens to my VIP Tier when I return something?
If you return an item for a refund the points for that item will be deducted from your balance. If your total spend then falls below the new VIP tier, your tier will drop back to reflect your revised total overall spend. Any bonus points earned from moving up a tier will be reversed if your VIP tier falls as a result of a return.
What happens to my SleepPoints when I exchange something?
Your SleepPoints balance does not change with exchanges of the same value (for example, swapping the colour or size). However, if you return an item for a refund, the SleepPoints for that item will be deducted from your balance. Any bonus points earned from moving up a tier will be reversed if your VIP tier falls as a result of a return.
Birthday Bonus Rewards
How do I get my birthday reward?
It’s your birthday, why not celebrate with 200 bonus birthday points? To add your birthday, navigate to the SleepPoints rewards page, click the tile marked “Birthday Bonus” and add your birth date. We’ll automatically add 200 points to your account on your birthday! The Birthday Bonus is applicable to our Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers only. Please also note, If your birthday falls between the day that you registered and the 30 day waiting period afterwards, you will receive your birthday bonus 30 days after your registration. This delay is only applicable for the first year that you signed up so make sure you add it now so you don’t forget!
I signed up for the Birthday Bonus but I didn’t receive it?
Happy Birthday! In order for you to receive your birthday bonus on your birthday, you must register your birthday at least 30 days prior to your birthday.
If your birthday falls between the day that you registered and the 30 day waiting period afterwards, you will receive your birthday bonus 30 days after your registration. This delay is only applicable for the first year that you signed up.
All successive birthday bonuses will be emailed to you on your birthday. If you register your birthday through your rewards account any time after it has passed in the current calendar year, rewards will not be added to your account until the day of your birthday in the following year.
Remember, the birthday reward is determined by the Rewards member tier that you are part of on the date of your birthday. Birthday Bonus points are given to our Silver, Gold and Platinum members. If it has been more than 30 days since you registered for your birthday reward and you still have not received the additional points in your account, please contact the customer service team who will be happy to help.
